They don’t just have their iconic chocolate fondant on offer 👅
Due to time we were forced to select some desserts that were quick to make and thank God for this because we got to try some things we would never have thought of otherwise 👌🏾
On the table: • Pecan pie, Banana cake and Chocolate mousse • each was accompanied with either fresh ice cream or sorbet! 😍
These desserts were just fantastic! Everyone cleared their plates! Mine was the pecan pie and it was drenched in caramel sauce which was to die for! There were bite of chewy pie which were like sticky toffee pudding, going perfectly with the ice cream! The wafers added a nice crunch to it too 🔥
Honestly I would recommend their pecan pie! Such caramel heaven 🍨 .
Sunday lunch !! Daal
Doi katla (katla fish cooked in rich curd based gravy)
Morula mach bhaja (Morula fish fry )
Morula macher chorchori (Morula fish dry curry)
Neem begun (brinjal and neem leaves stir fried)
Nolen gurer icecream homemade (date palm jaggery ice cream)
Morula fish which is also a very tiny fish happens to be my one of the favourite fish. It's a task to clean it and since my mom is here so cleaning was taken care by her 😁. I like it fried and I like it's chorchori which is like a dry curry with onion, ginger , garlic and tomato and very little spices .. this is my dida's (mom's mother ) recipe . My dida use to make this for me and I tried to re create the same recipe in my kitchen.
Doi katla is my mami's recipe.. 😁 this is how I learn all my traditional Bengali recipes.. a little from everyone and I am blessed to be in a family where my grandmother and all my aunt's cook amazing food and through #thebonghomechef I aspire to bring all such recipes .
My father use to say we should eat neem leaves at least in this season.. it helps fight lot of disease .. and neem leaves use to be served either crispy fried in ghee to be had with a little rice or neem begun where brinjal is stir fried and fried neem leaves are added and trust me it tastes amazing 😁
Of course the ice cream was made my me too 😁
