While reading @inherstudiomagazine, (A gift from @mottamello❤️☺️) Gina Kim wrote, “All creative spaces are invaluable and evolve along with us“. As an artist creating in several different spaces over all the years, I couldn’t agree more! 👌🏼
My art studio has gone through many different forms. I have created in a small spare bedroom, kitchen floor, on a deck, rooms of close friends and family, practically anywhere I could to get a project done 😅. I am grateful for all the places I have been able to create in, especially the space I have now. I love it! A huge bay window to allow for a lot of natural lighting and a homemade wooden shelf my boyfriend and I built to house all my art supplies. And of course a few plant beauties on top 🌿. I spend most of my day in this space so I wanted to make sure it’s comfortable and functional. Not a whole lot going on but it serves my needs 🎨❤️. Plus my Kitty is always nearby hanging out (Can you spot her? 😸)
The oil painting on the easel is a 20”x24” of the cute pup Sage. More progress pics to come!
Look at this beauty I found in @theregentblackpool for my ‘cotton and connections’ project. It’s really hard for me to find old photos that don’t make me feel sad or like there was so anger or sorrow in the people’s faces, I’m connected to the past when I touch certain things, so it was a challenge, anyway as soon as I saw this beautiful woman, I was filled with joy. I would love to know who she was, what she did and what her life was like.
