В Москве уже который день безумно тепло. Как человек, обожающий зиму, свитера и чашки, доверху наполненные какой-нибудь согревающей жидкостью (будь то кофе, чай, какао или глинтвейн — не имеет значения), я с трудом перестраиваюсь под новые погрдные условия.
Вставать по утрам уже гораздо легче и приятнее, а идти по сухому асфальту в кроссовках — настоящая радость. Но одновременно с этим маленький любитель холода, живущий внутри меня, очень недоволен такой жарой (целых 18 градусов!). ⠀
Так или иначе, я все равно прихожу к выводу, что главное — баланс. Яркое солнце, серые тучи и, может, даже сильные ливни просто-напросто должны чередовать друг друга.
Каждый день мы можем сделать разнообразным только с помощью своих мыслей, а погода лишь дополняет картину. Она не основной фактор, но, определенно, способна повлиять на многие наши действия и поступки 🌟

Absolutely killed by yesterday’s workout, sometimes decreasing the weight and focusing on your form can bring out an all new kind of burn. In this workout I tried to focus more on control and stance to put more emphasis on the different areas of my quads that I feel need the most work.
My stance for squats is a little narrower than I would usually use and the bar is higher on my back. By placing myself in this position I place more emphasis on the outer portion of the quad as well as the higher portions of the quad.
For hack squat the focus is more placed on the teardrop by placing feet further out and toe placement straight ahead. Also on these I am making a constant effort to push through my heels and forcing control all the way down and all the way up.
On leg extensions there are so many different ways to position yourself to hit all areas of the quad. In this workout I decided to place extra emphasis on my teardrop yet again as I feel it is my weakest area. Stance is shoulder width and feet are straight ahead. Also more emphasis is based on pushing with the inside of the shin rather than the entire lower leg.

Consistency can be hard because the feeling of not wanting to do something wants to over power what needs to be taken care of.
We also tend to be a little hard on ourselves when it comes to the gym. We body shame ourselves more than anyone else does. But if we loved ourselves a little more, had some patience, and let consistency run its course, we would see the change we want to see.

💪🏻It’s often suggested that using the weight you can lift for 6-12 reps is optimal for muscle mass gains.
In agreement, the American Society of Sports Medicine recommends 8-12 reps with 60-70% 1RM (the maximum weight you can lift 1 time) (1).
💭However, when reps are performed until failure (until you can’t do another one), you should have maximally recruited all muscle fibers. Therefore, it can be speculated that rep range is not that important, as long as you perform your sets until failure.
👨🏻🔬This study investigated the effect of both light and heavy weights on muscle mass gains. The ‘light’ group trained with 30% 1RM (for 30-40 reps), while the ‘heavy’ group trained with 80% 1RM (for 8-12 reps). Both groups trained until failure.
📊Both groups gained the same amount of muscle mass following 10 weeks of training.
❗️This suggests that the rep range you train in is not that important as long as you train until failure.
🧐Does this mean that every set has to be taken to failure? Not necessarily. Taking sets close to failure (1-2 reps in reserve for example) likely also gives an effective training stimulus and might be easier to recover from.
💡In conclusion, light and heavy weights increase muscle mass to a similar extent when performed until failure.
