Feeling proud after doing my first proper 10k run today! I wanted to finish it in under an hour and I managed 54:38... so I’m very happy with that! 😊 What’ve you been doing with your hangover-free Sunday?
First 10k of the year in the bag 💪, it’s great when there’s a 10k race right on your doorstep 😁. Running today to essentially warm up the legs for London and was feeling a bit underwhelmed in all honesty upon crossing the finish line 😕. .
I didn’t run yesterday so had two days off leading into it as Friday was a menace with uni work and yesterday I had a bit of a headache after doing more uni work all day and opted to cancel the pre evening shake out run and just go to bed. I arrived in good spirits and felt full of it and really really good and was almost bouncing off the walls in the warm-up 😄. The run felt superb, nice and strong and splitting the first mile in 5:27 I ran the same pace all the way and was surprised when I finished in just over 35 minutes. The run felt like the best 10k I’ve done in a long time effort wise it felt so good and after the first mile, I didn’t look at the watch again and thought this is at least a low 34 if not high 33 😃. Turns out it wasn’t, but it was windy in the middle, strong headwind where we must have slowed a bit but I didn’t really feel like anything was happening as I kept going at the same pace feeling great 🤔. .
Nevertheless, it was another great event and it’s certainly warmed up the legs for London 😜, speaking of which this is it now. Our next race is the London Marathon 😮, no more races now it’s just training through next week up to the taper then tapering begins!! .
Happy with today despite my perceptions of it all and now it’s that last bit up to end of April when the big race really is. 🏃🏃. Well done to all the instarunners who came down, I saw @runningdad and possibly a few others 😃🏃🏃
Today I realized the value of Focus on the performance and not to let the stupid little things that break your happiness.
I had a neck spasm while doing a fitness activity 2 days back.
My Coach Shahul Hameed and Physio Hema told me to take rest, Be natural, Enjoy your running. Don’t push yourself.
I took rest, kept ice and volini spray in a regular intervals. I had my K- Tape by Physio Hema near my neck.
During the marathon, I kept moving. I believed that I can do my running better and it happened.
That happy moment when you finish a 10K Run. Finished stronger with sub 60 (58 Mins). Thank you 🤩✨🙏🏻 #Day64#10KRun#RunnersofTeenduruns#fitness#running#inspiration#motivation#nbrunning#fitspo#instagram#chennai#flyhigh#finisher#happiness#Shotoniphone
